I do not completely agree with other posters about Craigslist. yes, you need to be very careful, but it may be a good place. I bought tickets there several times for sold out shows at the Kennedy Center.  there are people who buy tickets ahead of time and then for some reason cannot go and try to sell their tickets.  you obviously should not buy online tickets (the ones that the buyer obtains as PDF via e-mail, because they can be sold to multiple people), only paper tickets.  Also, I never respond to people who ask for more than face value, even for a sold out show (at the very least, I do not want to feed scalpers). I usually wait for a week or so before the show, until the day before (I got two tickets for a sold out Yo Yo Ma concert last year two days before the show), and try to buy from people in my area. I got the Yo Yo Ma tickets from an older couple living in CCDC, went to their home (not by myself) to get the tickets. there may always be a risk (and I would not buy very expensive tickets) but if you are careful you can minimize it.[/quote]
