Honestly we will probably be in the nosebleed section (for a mere $300+ at this point...tickets on the main floor are $1600 each...lol) so I don't imagine they'll sell out. Great idea to wait a bit for last minute deals!

I do not completely agree with other posters about Craigslist. yes, you need to be very careful, but it may be a good place. I bought tickets there several times for sold out shows at the Kennedy Center. there are people who buy tickets ahead of time and then for some reason cannot go and try to sell their tickets. you obviously should not buy online tickets (the ones that the buyer obtains as PDF via e-mail, because they can be sold to multiple people), only paper tickets. Also, I never respond to people who ask for more than face value, even for a sold out show (at the very least, I do not want to feed scalpers). I usually wait for a week or so before the show, until the day before (I got two tickets for a sold out Yo Yo Ma concert last year two days before the show), and try to buy from people in my area. I got the Yo Yo Ma tickets from an older couple living in CCDC, went to their home (not by myself) to get the tickets. there may always be a risk (and I would not buy very expensive tickets) but if you are careful you can minimize it.

OP, are you looking for cheap tickets or good tickets? I'm assuming Bocelli tix have been on sale for a while and likely he does not sell out since he comes around regularly. You may find some codes out there for discounts if tickets arent selling as expected, but I doubt it.

If you want good seats and Ticketmaster no longer has them, then go with StubHub. If you wait until the week of the show, you'll see prices dropping as people start getting desperate. If they're e-tickets, you can wait until the very last minute, otherwise, you need to allow time for them to be mailed to you. Monitor StubHub to get a sense of availability and demand.

I would definitely try Ticketmaster first, then Stubhub as a backup. I would not trust Craigslist; I know someone who got concert tickets from Craigslist for their teens to see a concert, and when they got to the Verizon Center, they were told the tickets were fake.

Or try Stubhub. We've used it several times and it is good and dependable. You might be able to get better seats.

I want to splurge for DH and take him out to the Andrea Bocelli. We almost never go out due to having 2 kids (=no extra cash and no extra time for the moment

So because I never do this I'm clueless about buying tickets. I saw some discounted at some random sites, are these ok or should I go through Ticketmaster? Are there ever any discount codes available? Any suggestions are hugely welcome

TIA
