My pediatrician told me this, too.  I was stressed to no end.  Around 3 months, we got so she would reluctantly drink an ounce or two from a bottle after much fussing as long as I was nowhere around.  Other things that helped:  trying when she was calm, warming the milk to just slightly warm, me getting the hell out of dodge, using a faster flow nipple (but not too fast; we ended up with avent size 2 nipples).  at first she did best if held in a cradle bfing-like position; later, that would upset her and we did better putting her in an infant seat.     And when I went back to work a few weeks later, she took a few days of barely eating and then started chugging it down.  So, the pediatrician was right after all, but I certainly stressed about it!

A friend of mine swears her daughter NEVER took a bottle, but they were able to introduce a sippy cup of some sort pretty early and just hold it for the baby at first.  [/quote]

My DD NEVER took a bottle but did take a sippy cup when she was just shy of four months.  Babies are born with the ability to drink (lap really) out of a glass.  It's more work but it's not impossible.

Keep working the bottle but also try a sippy.  There are some sippy cups that are bottle-ish but more acceptable than a bottle. [/quote]
