That is weird!  (this is the op, the other person was not me).  What are your insurance costs and family size pp?  Also, DH's job contributes to his retirement with no match required from him.  That takes a big chunk from people's paychecks.  I'm just counting what I see on our bank statement at the end of the month.  DH also gets paid biweekly so I'm not counting 2 extra paychecks each year as well. [/quote]

I do contribute match for my retirement and have a "family insurance plan" for medical even though there are only 2 of us.  I also maxed out on life insurance because I'm a single mom.  So I guess that explains it....  It is kind of depressing though![/quote]
