Chapel Hill has more stringent requirements; friends that moved there could not get the kid into AAP, after two years in FCPS AAP
My daughter was in the gifted program in NC. It was amazing! She was in a gifted classroom at her home school but once a week she was bussed off campus to the "highly gifted center". It was just the coolest program I've ever seen and she's been in AAP programs in four different states.
I know, right! I especally loved it when they brought out the unicorn that shat gold bricks!
Um??? Are you suggesting that I'm lying? You are welcome to look at the program yourself. We were living in Clayton, a suburb outside of Raleigh. She was in the Johnston County School District. Kids in the "highly gifted program" spent one full day each week at the highly gifted center in Smithfield. She is a sophomore in college now so it's been many years, but I think they still offer the same program. You are kinda odd.
