However, if we do not get the full deposit back, it will be the first time in nearly two decades of renting all over the country, and contrary to what the landlords told us at check out :) Just out of curiosity, what is the benefit to the landlord to hold that money beyond the full 45 days? Is the money held in some sort of escrow account? Does it bear interest?[/quote]
