That is entirely possible, and we are prepared for that. However, if we do not get the full deposit back, it will be the first time in nearly two decades of renting all over the country, and contrary to what the landlords told us at check out![]()
Just out of curiosity, what is the benefit to the landlord to hold that money beyond the full 45 days? Is the money held in some sort of escrow account? Does it bear interest?

If it is my $3K deposit, and I paid every rent payment on time for 3 years and left the house in excellent condition, damn strait I am going to care if the landlord does not return the courtesy of giving me my money back on time.
I am trying to figure out when to get demanding about MY money.
I was never late over 3 years and was an excellent tenant. Landlord owes me the same professionalism and respect.
