These two below have awful decor, but that aside -- if I had that kind of money to spend, I'd spend it on a waterfront home with a view and a huge lot. http://www.redfin.com/MD/Annapolis/1234-Cherry-Tree-Ln-21403/home/10001866 http://www.redfin.com/MD/Annapolis/2059-Maidstone-Farm-Rd-21409/home/21905760 Or I'd buy one of the 20s/30s homes in Upper NW for the $5M range: http://www.redfin.com/DC/Washington/4-Thompson-Cir-NW-20008/home/9988148
I like those annapolis homes but maybe I should have clarified that I am thinking of dream homes where you can be near DC for commuting purposes and great schools. The Annapolis area has poor schools but I guess if you are buying a 18 million house you could afford private.
The second Annapolis home is in a good district. I mean, it's the same conundrum for a good portion of this area, right -- worrying about schools. Most people who are spending this kind of cash in any city are probably using private. To be close-in with good schools -- OK. I love custom, newish homes like this. It doesn't have the glitz factor of the places you posted but looks warm and inviting despite its large space. http://www.redfin.com/MD/Bethesda/6800-Hillmead-Rd-20817/home/10701678
