Considering none of the predicted storms have materialized..over night or this morning..I think we can be a bit skeptical about this afternoon too. Not saying ignore it but not obsessing either. I feel like Hurricane Sandy where we spent two days listening to them say the real brunt of the storm was still coming and never did.
That may be true, but asking whether people think it's possible that schools will close early is hardly "obsessing". As a working parent, working at a site an hour from my child's school, I need to have a back up plan in the morning if I think school's going to close. So knowing if I should be calling my mother to ask her if she might be able to pick up, or asking my boss now about telework for the afternoon in case I need to leave quickly, is helpful. In addition, today is the promotion ceremony for my oldest child's middle school, an event that will be cancelled in case of an early closing. We've got relatives traveling a distance to be there, so I need to decide whether to encourage them to come early and leave a key under the mat, or to delay a little and check WTOP. None of this is "obsessing", it's "planning", which is part of parenting.
