Despite a closed adoption, which everyone says will lead to a messed-up kid, my sister and I are just fine- healthy family relationships, educated (though only a master's), gainfully employed, married and parent of two lovely children, etc. It's sort of off-topic, but it annoys/offends me when adoptees are portrayed as emotionally vacant or otherwise messed up.[/quote]
