[/quote] Is not a myth, it's accounting. The endowments are so huge they can not justify being subsidized anymore. Legally and for tax purposes they are considers Independent. I know the word Independent makes some feel special/elite but the fact is some Independent schools (many Catholic) and apparently many Jewish schools are NOT $35k. Makes you wonder why so many are $35K.[/quote]
