I believe all breeding should be illegal to the general population and to get a breeding license should be very difficult, time consuming and aggravating. There is no good reason to breed. There is enough dogs of every breed to supply everyone who wants a dog and then some. I don't believe in crap like " furthering the breed". Unless a breeder is also is a geneticist who is personally studying the genetic make up of the dog, there is no way they know what traits they are really breeding for - they are just basic people living in rural areas just trying to make a living. Even if they have a nice house and keep the dogs in nice chained linked in pens , they still are just randomly guessing and hoping the dogs from the liter turn out how the buyers will want.
Excellent points made. Animals cannot speak so us humans must be the voice for them. The poster who claimed that shelter animals are not brought up well is seriously missing some brain cells. Or didn't complete High School. That's like saying no one should adopt a child from an orphanage because after living in that type of environment, all orphans are now tainted.
