No one can be genetically linked to their pet. Not even Snoop Dog. Or Lion. Or whatever. Anyway, later down the line, if someone has a health issue and needs a bone marrow transplant or something, having a blood relative, ideally your own child can save one's life. You sound like you only like specific animals. Like shelter animals are nothing but dirty cast-offs. This is an uneducated and unfeeling sentiment.
