[/quote] No, you can't submit a W-9 and should fill out a W-8BEN instead. Also, before your employer pays your compensation, they must withhold 30% federal income tax - if you are a self-employed contractor. Your employer may not know that and may need some advice. I'm a CPA and a non-resident myself (because of the visa type), so I know a lot about taxation of non-residents.
