Our DC also in MCPS high school. We have a supplemental aid in Section III of the IEP called a Home-School Communication System. We (parents) and the case manager (and in our case the Resource teacher) decided how we would "communicate". We had a biweekly telephone conference at a scheduled time. Focus was on IEP implementation (like what kind of support is your student getting in Resource to stay on top of due dates), concerns with particular teachers/paras implementing the instructional supports in their classes, just as examples. I feel fortunate that our student's case manager this year was attentive to him (after some prodding on our part) as a safe sounding board and holding him to accountability. And that has helped us (and him). Also, OP, make sure you are receiving on a timely basis the quarterly progress reports on your student's goals and objectives. [/quote]
