This is what presumably prompted the outrage: locals are fed up with the back door immigration that allows people to enter and easily seek asylum through a seemingly unguarded, porous border (at least that’s what two articles I read earlier today pointed to).

Everyone has a tipping point when it comes to immigration (ahem…look at the US). And incidents of violent crime often prompt attention, and sometimes prompt a strong reaction.

I think the pp who racialized this really missed the point. Aggressively protesting (like this) is directly attributable to pent up frustration. I mean, look at the post-George Floyd riots/protests.

Its porous because of the situation with the UK. Something they have no problem with if you are a white person. And again the rates of violence by immigrants is less than the native born population. We are talking about Northern Ireland here!

The comparison to Floyd is appropriate as the right said they could not take the protest messaging seriously due to property damage and setting fire to things. However in this instance, they want to take the protest messaging seriously when there is property damage and setting fire to things. Fox News is covering this all sympathetic to the Irish protestors.

Sure theres that but again that makes my point about when white people do X its verified and when non white people do X its thuggery or animals. I dont watch Fox noNEWS.

Also there is no indication it was an attempted beheading. Thats rage bait language. A beheading would be neck not eyes back etc.
