We’ve had a positive working relationship, and in that same conversation she said she thinks I’m doing a good job, and it was otherwise a fine conversation.  My takeaway is that I should NOT bring up any frustrations and just work on improving my acting skills, because she said the team has the impression that I am disappointed in them (which I frankly am, because they’re not supporting the function I was hired to develop). In any case I reiterated to her that it’s my job to learn how to be successful in this environment and I’m going to do everything I can to make this easy for everyone.

The “fit” comment is very concerning to me and I’m not sure how worried to be. If I just conceal my frustration etc will it be okay, or is this her soft launching my firing? I was really hoping to keep this job for another year.
