We still go skiing every Thanksgiving and Christmas break with college-aged DC, but the rest of the year is wide open for ideas. Budget is not so much a concern, but time is—given the nature of our jobs, we can realistically can only take up to 2 weeks of vacation at a time. Thanks in advance for your suggestions!
If one of your kids goes to school some place fun, consider getting an AirBnB there and do fun things there. Hang out with your kid when that seems logical, but don’t force it. If your kids goes to school in boring places, book a flight to Rome. Spend a few nights in Rome, then a few nights each in AirBnBs in historic towns along a train route near Rome. Look at churches, ruins and museums in each town and eat amazing food.
