Overall, chains are pretty horrible places to get your hair done. I had a stylist at one who intentionally did my highlights with a very harsh edge so I’d need them redone every 4-6 weeks, rather than blending them so I could go every 3-6 months. They also want to get you out the door as quickly as possible; every time I’ve requested a blow dry (they’ve usually sent me on my way with wet hair) they dry it only halfway.

I don’t necessarily blame the stylists, they have strict rules about what colors/cuts they can do and how many clients they have to see.  But I only go to chains in an absolute pinch and I keep my expectations very low. [/quote]
