Lisa Rinna has had the same haircut + style for over three decades!!!!!

They don't take enough off so you have to go more often.

I would go to a barber instead OP.
Stylist may be just leaving it a bit longer; with my dh, it depends on which barber he gets how long it takes his hair to grow out.

To answer your question, it is absolutely possible that your hair growth rate has changed over time.

I had the same issue at Hair Cuttery - prices going up and quality of the cut going down. I decided to go to a nice, expensive hair salon on a trip to NYC, and I’m never going back to Hair Cuttery again. I got my hair cut and colored back in October and it’s grown out nicely with no weird spots. I will go back soon, but it’s nice that I can stretch my hair appointments to 2 or 3 times a year. It turns out to be cheaper than Hair Cuttery in the long run.

Yea, they can cut it so it looks messier faster. Barbers typically cut hair so that it grows into its shape, while chains typically cut hair so it looks perfect that day. Chain stylists also have to follow very specific standardized techniques for all customers, while a barber can tailor each cut to the individual. Your old barber probably used heavier tapering and fading to make it look better for longer.

Overall, chains are pretty horrible places to get your hair done. I had a stylist at one who intentionally did my highlights with a very harsh edge so I’d need them redone every 4-6 weeks, rather than blending them so I could go every 3-6 months. They also want to get you out the door as quickly as possible; every time I’ve requested a blow dry (they’ve usually sent me on my way with wet hair) they dry it only halfway.

I don’t necessarily blame the stylists, they have strict rules about what colors/cuts they can do and how many clients they have to see. But I only go to chains in an absolute pinch and I keep my expectations very low.

is she cutting the same amount off? maybe shes cutting less and you didn't notice? Ask her about the pricing.

Hair cutters has jumped the shark. My husband paid $40 before tip for a basic haircut. I keep telling him to go to a barber instead.

But I don’t think she has the ability to cut your hair differently enough that you have to go more frequently. Maybe your diet has improved and your hair is growing faster?

Are you asking whether a haircut can make your hair grow faster than usual?

There are different tiers of stylists at Hair Cuttery. The top stylists cost the most and tend to be the most expert and in demand. You can still get a "cheap" hair cut at H.C., inflation notwithstanding. Make sure you know the price *before you sit in the chair.

I've had the same haircut since 1998. Since that time I've had my hair cut lmost exactly every 8 weeks. Same length, same style. No changes at all.

My barber charged $18 for as long as I can remember. He retired 2 years ago and I found a lady at a local Hair Cuttery that does the same cut. When I first went to her it cost $28. Then it went to $32. Then $36, and now finally, $38.

The biggest difference, however, was that my every-8-weeks-cut now needs to be done about every 5 weeks.

Can hair growth rate change that much or is it possible she is cutting my hair in some way that she able to squeeze a lot more visits out of me?
