Because believe it or not some parents want the perspective of other parents who’ve done public and private, ow who considered it and what they found, whereas some private school parents have only and always done private.

And not all DCPS schools are bad! Plenty of good elementary schools, and a few middle schools and high schools get great marks and reviews. To be honest, if you are in a good public school in MCPS or DCPS, private is usually better. Here, there are so many hard feelings about that fact. [/quote]

I think so many people actually are pleased with public so it’s baffling how much $ people are spending on the 60k schools. We just don’t hear from the happy people as often bc..it’s DCUM. Can’t wait to hear all the “it’s horrible” responses. But as both a private and public school teacher, I’m more pleased with mcps. [/quote]

It depends on the child's needs.  There are pro's and con's of both.  We had one child in a private due to special needs MCPS wouldn't support or understand for a few years.  We may move our youngest in high school due to the lack of stem at our home school.  I don't think before that is worth it as the math tracks are different.[/quote]
