I liked the Belvedere palace and especially the park. We also visited both Hofburg and Schonbrunn palaces (get tickets ahead of time) and my daughter liked the Sisi museum (part of hofburg) . We did a highlights tour of Schonbrunn, which was enough. For art the kunsthistorische museum is extraordinary with my favorite Vermeer.  I went without my daugther to the Albertina to see a particular drawings show. We didn't go to the natural history museum but I hear it is also great. I also liked the Vienna Secession building with the Klimt friezes, my daughter was less impressed but fine with it because its not too big.

We rode trams around the ringstrasse, ate various pastries, and went to a  Vivaldi concert at Karlskirche--that was perfect for my daughter, who is not necessarily a huge classical music fan but Vivaldi is easy listening and the church is a supreme example of Baroque glitz--she was suitably impressed, as was I.

We did do the Riesenbad (the ferris wheel) and felt it wasn't worth it and the rest of the amusement park didn't seem that great.   We thought about doing a day trip to Hallstat, but didn't have enough time (we also went to budapest on this trip).
