They were skipping school and doing it during advisory time at his friend’s house near the school. Or they would do it right near the school after dismissal. Taking his phone would not have stopped either of these. We did room searches and backpack searches for a long time, without notice. We obviously prevented him from hanging out with these people outside of school when we could allow it. They were on a sports team together so it wasn’t that easy for the season. We had him drug tested at the doctor. We were glad our kid at least told us. It was a rough year. He didn’t do anything socially outside of school for months. [/quote]
