We've been house hunting for almost 6 months, our lease ends in March so we really need to find a home soon. Our budget is 750-850K, and we were hoping to buy a home in Bethesda/Chevy Chase (as everyone these days, I know). We have 2 kids and have been looking at 4 bdrms homes, but at that price range I can only find inventory in North Chevy Chase (Near 495/Jones Bridge/Rock Creek. Can you share what the area is like? We have 2 toddlers who would stay at home with a nanny (so having other kids in the area to play with would be amazing) and I've heard that North Chevy Chase elementary is not terrible. Husband and I commute everyday to downtown DC, so I'm scared as hell of taking Conn ave everyday because of traffic. Any thoughts?
Our housekeeper lives in North Chevy Chase. She is very happy over there and quite pleased with the public school offerings. My husband's driver picks her up around 7:00 in the morning and at least at that time, traffic on the Connecticut Ave is manageable. She once told me that she saw a rather large raccoon in the park near her house so I would be quite careful.
