We still have an older washing machine, top fill, that uses between 12-40 gallons per load, depending on small/med/large.  I think we do 4 loads per week when it is just my husband and I; the kids add another 1-2 loads depending on what's going on.

Buying a more water efficient washing machine isn't in my plans right now. I am trying to decide if installing a low-flow shower head would be a good idea. I'd like to get our usage to below 80 gallons per day.  Also wondering if it would make a difference to put in low flow aerators to our sinks for dish and handwashing?
