There was a girl in my class whose parents were both chefs at five star restaurants. She said they didn't eat anything really fancy because her parents were tired of cooking all day and wanted to rest when they got home. Lots of eating out and take out, too.
When I worked in a well-known, high pressure restaurant kitchen we (chefs & cooks) frequently ordered takeout for after work on weekend nights. We were constantly tasting what we put out on those $100 plates and some good subs or hot wings at 1 am were like palate cleansers. They went well with the half-full $700 bottles of wine left after service.
