For that matter, I think honey is supposed to be particularly good, so you could try a spoon of that. Sometimes I make hot lemon tea with honey. We also had a lot of frozen (thawed) sweetened strawberries, soups, popsicles, and puddings. Something my kids’ pediatrician recommended is gargling with warm salt water. I think it not only soothes, but helps fight against bacteria. We also liked to use the Vicks patches (make sure you remove before laundering) or plug-ins (DO NOT LEAVE PLUGGED IN - read the instructions) I should note that I am just a parent with absolutely no medical qualifications.
