Has anyone been through the process of dc building a portfolio for a landscape architecture programs? I have a student who's interested and has photography and art classes but don't know best practices for portfolio. Any nuggets of wisdom to impart on portfolios or the admissions process in general?
I think the school sites have details of what they are looking for, and if you google you can find sample portfolios. Be aware that different schools sometimes have specific requirements for the portfolio, up to and including pixel dimensions, so your DC has to almost create a separate portfolio for those schools. Also - aren’t most admissions deadlines for this year either past or very soon (like tomorrow)? I ask because May often take more time than your kid thinks (e.g. in addition to portfolio and essays they need to create a video for some school’s specific to the school).
op- He's hs class of 2027 so it's for next year.
