Hello! Does anyone have any experiences (positive or negative) with law school admissions consultants? My DS has great test scores/GPA, but is worried about how competitive admissions has gotten for the top tier law schools. We didn't use a consultant for college and regretted it a bit (coming from a big public HS), and I was hoping to hear about others' experiences with law school.
What is the LSAT and how does the GPA compare to the undergrad medians? At some undergrads, a 3.9 on a 4.0 scale (with no 4.3-A+ weight added for the law school gpa) is not even top 25%(Harvard, Penn Wharton only(other Penn schools, SEAS/CAS, are not inflated), Brown, Duke). Even from ivy/T10 "feeders", top-6 law usually needs top 1/4 GPA or better. Since you say you regretted no consultant for undergrad, he is presumably not at ivy/T10 and maybe not even within T30ish? In that case the GPA needs to be top 5% of the undergrad to have a shot at T6 law.
