I would call your doctor. How old are you?
I am 43. My periods are typically very regular, which is why this one is noticeably different. I guess I am just wondering if it is normal to have a one off, weirdly heavy period as you get older. Given the lack of other symptoms, it is really only the quantity of blood that is a concern. Do I need immediate care? Or just mention at the next regular check up? Or schedule a check up this week but don’t bother with wasting ER resources?
Schedule the checkup sooner, and ask what they recommend regarding the ER when you make the appointment. Advil can help in the short-term, and having a Mirena eventually placed is often recommended for regular heavy bleeding, if feasible.
