I'm looking to reupholster and install actual springs.[/quote] I think you mean a flexolator suspension grid but it’s not plastic and I don’t think you can necessarily change it without rebuilding the whole sofa which would cost way more than buying one with the suspension system you prefer. Not a lot of sofas have springs though, I think s coil is more common. [/quote]
