Such an overrated store.

I bought a couch there that was a showroom couch, after randomly walking past the store for the first one when doin a kid errand in Bethesda. Big sectional. It’s going great (but it’s only been about a year).

I bought some couch pillows there and still love them.

We tried to use them for design services and the person was pretty useless. They also never had the items we had seen online and wanted to check out in person.

No they don't.
I bought one of their couches. They don't use real springs. Just strips of plastic beneath the upholstery. Guess how long those plastic straps last.
I'm looking to reupholster and install actual springs.

I think you mean a flexolator suspension grid but it’s not plastic and I don’t think you can necessarily change it without rebuilding the whole sofa which would cost way more than buying one with the suspension system you prefer.

Not a lot of sofas have springs though, I think s coil is more common.

My room and board sofas have springs. They are pretty transparent about the construction of their products. Everything is listed right there on their webpage for each item. If the construction didn’t meet your quality preferences, that’s on you.

I’m a longtime Room and Board fan and I had no idea they even had a Bethesda location!

We've been so happy with our York sectional for 10 years. Which model was it? We'll be buying a second sofa (looking at Metro) and I'll be more tuned in to what may have changed in manufacturing.

I had no idea it was there and popped in before Christmas when doing some area shopping. It isn't surprising that it closed. It was such a tiny fraction of the merch they carry, it really didn't appeal. (I live near the 14th Street location.)

I thought they didn't have any furniture in this location?

Nothing can stay open for long in Bethesda. But did anyone even go to this location? I think I popped in for a few minutes when it first opened.
