Please don't feed your kids oatmeal for breakfast. They need protein and carbs. Make some egg burritos or egg bites or egg sandwiches instead. Easy to premake and heat up in the morning in the microwave. All of these can be made healthy and can be frozen as well.
Op here: My basic baked oatmeal recipe has 3 eggs and a good amount of oil to make it heartier. And often I add chopped pecans or walnuts! And yes my kids eat these kinds of foods, thankfully! I’m not an almond mom—we also have plenty of processed foods on hand and they get takeout with friends; this isn’t the only stuff they get, but I’m trying to keep us from grabbing too much processed foods and having enough fruits and vegetables. The other ideas posted have been great! Chili, grain salad, etc. going on my FPS list!
