BYDT three times and first at many. We are backyard barbecue type of people. Guests are family and friends. Kid gets their own guest list. Cost depends on whether you include alcohol and number of guests.
We would have about 70 people but dont want to spend $1000 for grad party. Our home is too small to hold it in.
Reserve a spot in a public park. Not sure where you are, but if in Arlington there is a nice covered space with picnic tables at Lubber Run down by the creek. At that price point, you will need to do the food yourself; there are grills at the Lubber Run place. There is a Gazebo you can reserve at the park next to the library in McLean. Places like that.
