DD is a B student with an IEP for ADHD and anxiety. GMU would be a good fit for her for many reasons (accommodations, in state, close to home etc.) We are trying to see where she needs to be to get in. Probably TO since she is not a good test taker. Around 3.0 UwGPA. She is a sophomore and had a rough year, but hopefully she can improve her grades. If you have a child accepted to GMU last few years, do you mind sharing stats? TIA
Since she is in sophomore year, you still have a year to catch up. You (parents and family members) probably need to closely SUPPORT (not tiger parenting) her, in multiple aspects, besides academics; study skills & time management and executive functioning skills. Check with school counsellor if your DD school participates in GMU direct admission program (if GMU is target by then). Also make sure she gets good support from close friends & families. Many or most of the parents here were not top of the tier students when they were young, but leading great life now. The future is only going to be brighter not bleak. Don't need to be overly concerned about the future of the kids. It is all about the journey not the destination.
