It started with "Who just called someone a N----?!" and when the middle school kids went bonkers she doubled down in a weird way. ('I have black friends!')
So she didn’t call a student the n-word? She was trying to figure out who did say it?
Maybe initially. But what I heard after when she doubled down was -“I have a black friend and I call him **.” I have a Colombian relative and I call him **.” And each time saying the full word loudly. It sounds really crazy.
It does. Kind of wonder if she is not a native born American. I cannot imagine anyone not understanding this "rule." I do think, though, that the word should not be used by anyone. Even those of color. Whoopi defends it and it is prevalent in music, but we need to remove it from any use. But, it has been a rule for many years.
