Maybe initially. But what I heard after when she doubled down was -“I have a black friend and I call him **.” I have a Colombian relative and I call him **.”
And each time saying the full word loudly. It sounds really crazy.

I think we all should know not to say The Word. And if we have said it somehow and are corrected, even if by a middle schooler saying "bro, you can't SAY that!" we should respond with an apology and a promise to do better.
