What about a single C or D? DC is struggling in one of their AP classes and is bordering the C-D line for first semester. They have started tutoring and I expect the end of year grade to get up to a low B. All other classes are in the A to A- range including 3 additioonal AP classes. I'm getting concerned about his RD list if the early schools don't work out.
Expect rejections. Meet with/your school counselor in list. Proactively notify AO about grade
No f-king way. This poster is trying to sabotage your kid OP just ignore them.
If your kid is getting a C in the first semester but expects to do better in the full year (year-end) - which is what the OP is saying, most counselors will tell you to wait for EA/ED apps to come in (those don't need first-semester grades). Then bc the first semester grades will auto be sent to your RD schools, give an update in the portal proactively FOR THOSE RD schools ONLY. My kid had a health issue in the first semester, had a C+ first semester in Calc (all As in other classes) and had to have a medical procedure (under anesthesia) with an inpatient in early Jan last year after RD apps were due. School's CCO told DC to write an update about grade (mid to late Jan), and health issues (along with medical resolution). By the end of the year full-year grade was a B (A- in the 2nd semester). DC was admitted to deferred ED1 (T20) along with a T10 and WL at several other T20. Don't hide from the grade for your RD schools bc they will see a C in the first semester. You need to explain it.
