I left a note when I made a teeny weeny scrape on someone's car in a parking lot. They called back to say that they couldn't actually see the scrape, and not to worry. Some people panic in the moment, and do the wrong thing. I don't judge them too harshly. In the big scheme of things, it's not that big of a deal.
Uhm, yes it is a big deal to cause damage to someone else's property and not take accountability!!!! Any adult who can't act responsibly should not be driving a vehicle. Being flustered is not an excuse. Also, it's most likely because they have no insurance.
PP you replied to. Compared to murder, theft, etc... That person's not going to hell over forgetting to leave a note, PP. You need to keep things in perspective.
One, she didn't FORGET. She intentionally did not leave one. GET REAL. Two, according to you, I can go rob a store right now but should not face consequences because it's not as bad as murder????? Damaging someone's car and not paying for the damages IS theft. Someone has to pay for that. If you are so frazzled that you "forget" to leave a note after damaging someone else's property, you should not be driving. Period. No cop would buy or care about that storyline.
