My HSers came home talking about a large police presence, student arrested and escorted from building yesterday and as of right now- there has been zero communication from FCPS about it. We get emails about hate speech- so why not about this?
If the police come and arrest someone at school I don’t see why the school would send something about it. It’s no one else’s business.
They have a lot of internal policies about school-wide or system-wide communications. We got one when there was an incident of antisemitism at school. There are system wide notices when a student dies or there is a drug overdose or a weapon at school. Every time a sex-offender teacher gets arrested, there is a system wide email. Some of those communications are state-mandated. So it short, there are lots of reasons. Most of which are policies the school system itself set.
