Wondering if this might be a good safety school for my dc. We need some options. What is the student body like - preppy, sporty, nerdy, a mix? And are academics good?
Preppy, sporty. Has school spirit - no football but other D1 sports. It is a lovely school with a Core Curriculum and faculty that care. It is not hard to get into so the level of students isn't the highest. I know some incredibly bright kids there, though, who liked the Jesuit vibe and were very happy with the financial aid package. They are incredibly generous with merit aid. It is very focused on preparing kids professionally, getting them internships that lead to jobs. Wall Street Journal loves the school - it is very high on the list.
