What's the sordid history?? The attached ADU makes it appealing to only a limited number of buyers. I think most families would rather have bigger living spaces. For essentially the same price you could have these new-builds: https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/3013-N-Toronto-St-Arlington-VA-22213/12055577_zpid/ https://www.zillow.com/homedetails/2641-N-Ohio-St-N-Arlington-VA-22207/450047478_zpid/ If they reduce the price to $1.9M, I think it would sell.
The neighbor that I asked about it said there was a lot of disturbing activity in that house and police were involved. It sounds like it created a lot of tension among the neighbors. It sounds...upsetting. I agree that the light fixtures and front walkway are bad. I am wondering if the did the reno themselves without a designer? The whole house is extremely disjointed with several different styles going on at once. And none of which match the exterior of the house. The little apartment seems much more cohesive in terms of design. I would also expect a much nicer kitchen in a house that I was paying $2.25m for.
