Really specific houses take longer to sell. This one is in that category as it needs a multigenerational family. It's not a standard ADU, as it has shared spaces like a ground floor bathroom, so you can't just rent out the ADU. This house also has two full, expensive kitchens. That's hard to find a comp for as that feature doesn't exist in other houses.

I am even more intrigued. The link shows a husband and wife and their two kids and grandparents. Did husband come out of closet and cause the breakup?

Oh good eye I didn’t pick up on the virtual staging. I would like this house a lot if I needed to move my parents “in” - but also don’t have anywhere close to that much money.

It's virtually staged, right? Everything looks totally fake and the pictures from that magazine article show different furniture. Virtual staging can be OK to get people in the door, but then when they actually show up, it's often disappointing to see the house totally different than what you saw online.

The neighbor that I asked about it said there was a lot of disturbing activity in that house and police were involved. It sounds like it created a lot of tension among the neighbors. It sounds...upsetting.

I agree that the light fixtures and front walkway are bad. I am wondering if the did the reno themselves without a designer? The whole house is extremely disjointed with several different styles going on at once. And none of which match the exterior of the house. The little apartment seems much more cohesive in terms of design.

I would also expect a much nicer kitchen in a house that I was paying $2.25m for.

The lighting fixtures are horrible. For that price they could have had a non dead lawn. The sidewalk is a nightmare. I would ask for a reduction to fix all those things.

Same poster. Never mind. It's really close to Falls Church. I take back my estimate. I thought it was much closer to Lyon Park.

This house is near my neighborhood and has been sitting on the market for a while. (Neighbors say that there is a sordid history there.) Seems to me like the asking price is crazy high but I haven't been in the market in a long time. I'm curious why it isn't selling. Typically, homes in this area go quick!
