I've never in my life heard a wind chime that was loud enough to be heard inside when the windows and doors are all closed. I think you might have particularly thin walls or something. But I think that it would be an enormous pain in the....to remember to take in a windchime every night and put it back out every morning, so I think your request of them is ridiculous.
Well, the townhomes are pretty old and the walls seem to be think and we can hear quite a bit. When their teenage daughter listens to loud music in her room, I can hear it in my baby's room. We moved the crib so that he is not right next to her wall where the speakers seem to be located. I'd invite you to come over and listen and I can guarantee that you would be bothered by the noise at night. But then, maybe we'll get used to it in time. It is most definitely better than the loud music or yelling by the teenager. I don't really mind wind chimes, but there are 'good' and 'bad' ones out there. Some are just of better quality than others. This one seems to be of the cheaper quality. Hey, I might learn to like them so much that I will acquire my own wind chime in no time.
