As the subject says...I'm a teacher who moved here recently due to my husband's employment. I'm trying to just sub for the year but the process is taking seemingly forever. Does anyone know how long it takes once you submit an application? The careers page in general seems to be questionable....I've emailed principals to either no reply at all or told the position has been filled despite the job still being up in careers. What is the deal?
Have you applied to be added to the Teacher Pool first? Last year, nobody told me that and I applied to like 55 jobs directly and found out that if you don't apply to the Teacher Pool first, your applications go straight to the trash. Principals aren't even allowed to look at your application. It's the generic "Teach With MCPS" posting. Once you go through that process, which took me about 3 weeks, you can then apply directly to posted jobs and be interviewed
Not necessarily true because I did the same thing and emailed principals of jobs I was REALLY interested in and got interviews.
