It's truly amazing what a difference 5 minutes can make to an overall commute. It would seem like leaving at 7:45am would not make that much difference but it really can.  Also, does he actually get into his own office very single day at 8:30 am or does he get to a parking space at 8:30? Again, it really can make a difference because if you don't add in those few minutes it takes to get from a parking spot to the office you are still really underestimating.[/quote]

That's to his office, after parking his car in the garage. If it snows, he arrives later, but most days that's his commute.

And yes, if he left at 7:50 am, he'd be lucky to be at his office by 9 am.[/quote]
