Load and start the dishwasher, handwashing pots and pans and set them out to dry (usually right on top of the stove, spray and wipe island , wipe kitchen table with a damp paper towel, and "spot sweep" any crumbs (as opposed to doing the whole kitchen floor. If a pot boiled over or something, I admit I don't necessarily clean the stove the same night.
Very similar here. Unload clean dishes and then load and start dishwasher, handwash pots and knives and dry them with a towel, clean counters with Lysol spray. Obviously put away any food that wasn't put away while cooking. Trash goes out twice a week, recycling once a week or when it's full. If anything's especially dirty, like the cooktop or the faucet, clean that. As somebody said, leave it the way you want to find it in the morning.
