I recently started rewatching the West Wing for the first time since it aired. I don't think I saw the last few seasons either. I thought it would feel extremely dated but I'm surprised how much I like it. Sure, some things are just silly now but mostly it's enjoyable and it's kind of fascinating as a very specific fantasy of high minded politics in an era very different from the one we now live in. I highly recommend giving it a try. I originally planned to just rewatch the first season but I'm not on season 3 and just slowly working my way through when I have time to watch a show on my own. I really look forward to it. I tried rewatching Buffy a few years ago and it just didn't do it for me. I think the difference is that I was a teen when it was originally on and it just hits different, I can't get into it. Have you ever seen the show Battlestar Galactica? Not the original one from the 70s/80s but the remake that came out in the 00s. I highly recommend that one. The special effects are kind of cheesy (they weren't even that great the first time, it was a relatively low budget sci fi show) but the writing is really good and I think it's especially topical now in light of political upheaval and the AI development going on now. Actually, thinking about it makes me want to watch it again...
