I’m fine with my portion and think yes it’s fine. But hate students or their parents being crippled or majorly impacted by debt. My parents were very kind about it. And could only do it bc they lived so modestly and my sibling went to a state school and was an RA, so housing costs were covered. And it was a lot less $$$$ then than now. [/quote] Totally get it. What I was saying is that they can give slightly smaller massive scholarships and the student could be like you and take a small loan and get a job. As you said, you did fine with that burden. It is unfortunate that your parents had to take out the big loans (though much respect to them for doing so).[/quote]
