Rate of holdups seemed higher than before the stepped-up federal patrols. A rash of reported robberies occurred in the District from Friday into Saturday despite the federal law enforcement surge credited with making the city generally safer. Seven holdups were reported within a period of less than 12 hours from midafternoon Friday through early Saturday. Weapons were displayed in several, but no injuries were reported. It was not clear what was taken. The rate of the crimes seemed several times higher than before President Donald Trump set in motion the anti-crime effort in which additional federal officers as well as National Guard troops are reinforcing D.C. police. The surge has been credited with reducing crime and the homicide rate has dropped sharply
https://www.washingtonpost.com/dc-md-va/2025/08/30/crime-surge-trump-dc-robbery/ lol guess hiding out in the white rich neighborhoods really isn’t “fighting”?
I thought crime wasn't a problem in DC. Totally safe for tourists and visitors...
Tourists and visitors are already in the well patrolled areas overall, pre surge. Doesn't help that much when the surge people are hiding out in these same areas..
